The Georgian Ungulate Horns were to be sent away along the collection of other important national heritage treasure that were taken away by the emigrating Georgian government , though because of inconveniencies , the horns had been left in Batumi. Later in 1922  the collection was brought into the museum.

 

Turs, endemic to Caucasian mountains, are one of its kind and are listed under the international Red Data Book , with explicit ban on hunting them. A tur is a goat  with bigger body mass, eats mostly mountain grass. There is two tur species known : eastern and western Caucasian tur.

East  Caucasian (Dagestan) tur lives in the eastern part of the Caucasus mountains. It has a uniquely elongated spiraling horns .The west Caucasian or Severtsov tur is more widely distributed along the western part of the Grate Caucasus Range ,The turs horns have a characteristic crescent bend to it.
